A new synagogue in Brighton is starting construction within a residential masterplan between the city of Hove and Brighton. The new social space features a terracotta glazed - pipe privacy screen that wraps a modern wooden temple within.

The Yard

Loco envisions a post-covid future for the city of aarhus (denmark's second largest city) with a proposal to cover up a "Wasted space" and give it back to its residents. Aarhus' functioning rail-yard is soon to undergo works to electrify its rails and replace it's diesel based trains, which means this is a perfect opportunity to take back a significant "Waste-land" that divides the urban centre and turn it into the breathing lungs of the city. One that listens to its residents and gives hope for a better future, with a brand new yard.

Our project bit park, which we first unveiled in Copenhagen last October at the C40 world mayor’s summit, is now a finalist for the prestigious international danish design award 2020 for the category of visionary concepts!
The danish design award celebrates projects that have the capacity to generate value in both, economic, cultural and social aspects. Winners will be announced in June, more to follow.

Founder Marco Antonio Maycotte was invited to take the stage in sharing his vision of smart cities in a night of inspirational discussions alongside a strong panel of innovators: ivan flechais from oxford university, stephen passmore from resilience brokers, and katerina karaga from farrells architects. He rounded off proceedings with bitpark. A personal exploration starting in his home of mexico city, marco explored the potential of blue infrastructure as a unifying public space for a city's inhabitants.

Climate change awareness. A proposed installation inspired by the melting ice in the polar caps. The lines represent future rising sea levels in different cities across the world. The inner cave was modeled after a small iceberg. The pavilion itself represents the danish life guard towers that pop-up whenever its the season to use the water.

It was built with materials borrowed from local companies on the harbour

The Space Beneath the Waves

The space beneath the waves seeks to highlight the potential of the water as a productive urban space through the creation of a submerged ‘’city garden’’ under klavebod bølge in copenhagen’s inner harbour. In addition to providing nearly 100 m2 of growing space the installation serves as a unique dissemination venue where visitors are invited to walk across the surface of the water to discover the wonders at their feet.
