Idea

Climate change awareness. A proposed installation inspired by the melting ice and glaciers in the polar ice caps. The lines on the side of the pavilion represent future rising sea levels in different cities across the world. The “inner cave” was modelled after a small iceberg. The pavilion itself represents the Danish life guard towers that “pop-up” as a sign whenever it is the season to start jumping back into the fresh water!

This project was part of a series of commissions from the city of Copenhagen for the C40 World Mayor’s Summit in 2019 on climate change and sustainability in our cities.

A temporary water pavilion for C40 inspired by classic Danish life-guard stations

A pavilion that ignites dialogue on unused blue spaces in our cities and their fast-changing rise in sea levels
